XolorX – Ocean Controlled Light installation
Treviso, 2024

This installation marks the passage of xCoAx – International Conference on Computation, Communication, Aesthetics, and X – through FABRICA – a communication research center – housed in the work of architect Tadao Ando. I took as a starting point the words United Colors of Benetton, the series of colored gradients that have been used in the graphic image of the conference, and the rainbow, which represents both the spectrum of chromatic sensations visible to humans and the diversity in the spectrum of human sexuality and gender. An original program was designed to control the hue variation of a series of 13 RGB lamps. The movements of the chromatic variation are influenced by the movement of the sea waves off Matosinhos beach, recorded by a wave gauge.
